Our Dog Training Classes in Lancaster

Residential Training

Also known as board and train, residential training is an intensive 2–6 week stay at our secure facility in Lancashire. During this time, we work on obedience and reducing unwanted behaviours, such as aggression and reactivity, that can’t be solved at home or during a 1-2-1 session.

One-to-One Training

These training sessions are tailored specifically to your dog’s breed and temperament. Adult dogs or puppies can get help with recall and excessive barking.

Dog Behaviourist

Our expert trainers focus on the emotional and psychological causes behind your dog’s unwanted behaviours. We don’t just teach commands; we work to understand the root of the problem, then fix it.

Boot Camp

For a fast-track training solution, our boot camp is built on the concept of one-to-one training. It focuses on hyperactivity, manners training and predatory behaviour, to name a few.

Obedience

Obedience training covers basic commands and dogs needing more structure with their behaviour patterns. Your pet will learn better recall habits, plus calm behaviours around people and other dogs.

Socialisation

Socialisation isn’t just for puppies; all dogs can benefit from training around appropriate behaviours. We help dogs interact appropriately with people, animals and everyday situations.

Intensive Courses

For more focused support, intensive dog training classes are designed for owners who want to see noticeable results fast. These are slightly shorter courses than our residential options, but just as effective.

Training Class Details

Initial Consultation

We begin by discussing your dog’s current behaviour and any problem areas that need targeting. This allows us to plan the best training methodology based on your goals and expectations.

Choosing the Right Training Class

Based on your dog’s needs, we recommend the most suitable training sessions for your dog, whether that’s one-to-one training in environments near your home, or a full board and train programme at our facility in Lancaster.

Bespoke Plan Creation

Every dog is different, so their training plan should be too. We put together a bespoke training programme to target problem areas, alongside a basic obedience course.

Structured Training and Progression

Your dog undergoes professional training with measurable progress indicators. We focus on real-world behaviour, not just controlled environments.

Progress Review and Ongoing Support

Finally, we review your dog’s development and provide a structured plan for you to follow to maintain the training and ensure long-term success at home.

Frequently Asked Questions

At what age can my dog start training?

Our dog training classes are ideal for all types of dogs, including puppies aged 8–20 weeks in their key social development phase, adolescent dogs who are becoming excitable or reactive, and adult or rescue dogs who may be nervous or unsure around other dogs.

How long will it take to see results?

This depends on your dog’s current ability and behaviour. Some dogs see results after just a few sessions, whereas others benefit from regular, ongoing work. During the consultation or assessment stage, we can provide a rough idea of how many training classes you’ll need.

What makes your training different from others?

At A&T Trained Dogs, our team has experience training dogs from across the UK and internationally. We combine decades of experience with a structured, results-driven approach that ensures success long after the training sessions end.

What are your prices?

Our dog training prices start at £750 per week but vary depending on your dog’s needs and how bespoke the training plan needs to be. We also offer finance plans from £500 up to £55,000 to make costs more manageable.
